  This restaurant is not very ethical. Staff are humiliated in front of the costumers. I eat at Sambal regularly when I’m at work. Normally my experiences are neutral to positive, however my dining experience last week was unacceptable. Our waitress was pleasant and took our order promptly. We sat down to eat and suddenly I heard someone yelling. At first I thought it was a customer, but it actually was the manager yelling at an employee. I felt very uncomfortable and I couldn’t ask for a manager because he was the manager. I’m sure I will never set foot in Sambal again.

  I lived in Chinatown for more than a decade and was surprised by the very high prices here in contrast. The laksa is of average quality, and certainly nothing to write home about and certainly not worth what they were asking! Overpriced for not very special food and highway frontage ambience means unfortunately it is unlikely we will be back. Disappointing as not many places to get ones mandatory laksa hit in this area. We make our own at home now or collect from May's in North Sydney.
